Supertest: Japanese Tier IX Premium Cruiser Ōta

Image
As the last Premium ship entering testing with Update 15.9, here is Ōta. As was announced in the Roadmap article, she will be available as the reward of the next Dockyard event. Time to see what this plus-size Harugumo is packing. Historical background Ōta doesn't have much background to speak of. She is a fictional AA refit of Gokase (which, itself, is as far as I remember based on the C44 design/Agano-kai). Historical background USS Honolulu (CL-48) was the 7th member of the U.S. Navy's Brooklyn-class light cruisers.  The ship was laid down in December 1935, launched in August 1937, and commissioned in 1938. Honolulu began her career in the interwar period, taking part in fleet exercises in the Caribbean and off the U.S. West Coast until mid 1940. Afterward, following an overhaul, she was dispatched to Pearl Harbor, where she operated from during the year 1941... and on the 7th of December, she was there to receive the visit of some Japanes...
